I hate IT

I thought I had a bunch of dodgy CDs, but no... actually looks like the problem is not the disks but the CD writer software. Not the actual CD writer - it is fine with I-Tunes, and on DVDs but has given up writing CDs!

And the software company (Veritas, now owned by Symantech) only provide support if you buy their new software because they have stopped supporting my 2 year old version.

Having been working with computers for 25 years, I still wonder what
normal people do - how do they ever get them to work? I've got a PhD in
Physics, and I still get scared by the jargon and stuff.

The error message was either "sorry you are shit out of luck - I couldn't be bothered finishing writing your disk" (I paraphrase), or ...
